January in a Nutshell

Cosy Club Liverpool

Can you believe we’re already one month into 2018? I’ve seen a lot of people on social media talking about how long January has been, but for me it’s been fairly alright. I haven’t done a huge amount this month as I’ve been putting all my pennies towards my upcoming trip to New York (which is 5 days away!) I normally write a post detailing what pictures I’ve captured over the past month through my iPhone, but mid-way through January I realised I hadn’t actually done a huge amount.

I did manage to do one thing this January, and that was turn a year older. I’m at an age now (29) were a lovely meal out followed by some drinks is my ideal way of spending it. Tom took me to the lovely Cosy Club situated in Liverpool One. Neither of us had been before but after checking their online menu out, we were both persuaded. Whether you’re after brunch, lunch or something a bit fancier, there is definitely something for everyone. They even have a gluten-free and vegan menu which was great as it shows they cater for everyone. The décor inside was quirky with walls covered in paintings and maps and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. I went for the Beef Brisket burger while Tom had the Ham Hock Hash. Needless to say, we will definitely be going back in the near future.

We also visited Patisserie Valerie for some (birthday) cake. I chose the Double Choc, which is layers of dark chocolate sponge and chocolate cream, topped with a chocolate profiterole. Safe to say, it was very chocolatey which is exactly what I wanted.

I also went to Unit 51 which is located in the hip and happening Baltic Triangle. It’s very spacious inside with a great selection of breakfasts and light bite treats. My friend and I both went for the Breakfast Special which is essentially a full English. The food was so good, and considering I live close by, I was quite surprised I’d never paid them a visit before.

Other than stuffing my face with food (nothing new there) I’ve mostly just been planning my New York itinerary. There’s so much I want to see and do and somehow a week doesn’t seem long enough. But I will definitely be taking a lot of photos for future blog posts. If you’d like to follow me on my trip to the Big Apple, be sure to check out my Instagram.

Let me know in the comments how your January has been.
