I usually save these kind of posts for the end of the month as a way to round things up. December has been very busy for me and I feel like the month has flown by already. It feels like Blogmas and work have taken over my life at the moment but I’ve managed to do some festive things. Some things have made their way into Blogmas posts and others haven’t. Here’s a roundup of what I’ve been up to so far this month.
On the first day of Christmas December it was my works Christmas party. I work for a search marketing company and just so happen to work with this lucky guy (my husband). Our Christmas party was at the Chester Racecourse and it was a great night. Not so great the following day with an awful hangover and a gig in Manchester to attend.
I saw Good Charlotte at the start of the month. I’ve seen Good Charlotte so many times that I’ve lost count. I’ve been going to see them pretty much every time they toured the UK since I was about 15 or 16. They’re one of my favourite bands and they always put on such a good performance. I went with my brother and my friend and we got to Manchester a little early so we could check out the Christmas markets but the weather was awful and my hangover did not help. Which called for an emergency KFC and a Fudge Hot Chocolate from Starbucks to make it better.
The Coca Cola truck stopped by Liverpool on the 5th and 6th December. Its been coming to Liverpool for quite some years now and if I’m in the city centre when it’s about then I’ll pop along to see it. It’s not as magical looking as the one from the advert but it’s still pretty cool to see.
I talked about how festive Liverpool is at this time of year and how we have a few Christmas trees around the city centre. This is another one located on Church Street which they put up quite a few years ago which I always thought looked rubbish but now it just seems part of the traditions.
Tom and I went to see the Christmas markets in Chester. You can read all about that here.
I experienced my first afternoon tea and it was really fun. If you want to know more about that, I wrote a post on it.
One of my favourite things to do during Christmas is make Eggnog. I used make a Snowball during the festive period but the past two Christmases I’ve been experimenting with the American version of Eggnog and it is so tasty.
Britain had a lot of snow recently and the country always seems to come to a standstill whenever it snows. Liverpool doesn’t really get any snow but places on the outskirts seem to get a fair bit. Luckily for me I got to experience it a little on our day out to Chester but that weekend it came down heavy. Except in Liverpool, of course. I was a bit jealous of everyone’s lovely snow pictures on Instagram but when I got to work on Monday morning the snow was still there looking like something from a Christmas card.
What have you been up to so far in December? Are you up-to-date with all my Blogmas posts?
