Blogmas Day 17: My Favourite Winter Skincare Products

It’s cold, we’ve had snow and I’m wearing several layers which means one thing. Yes, winter is finally here. Whilst I actually love this time of year, it’s not very good to my skin. Luckily over the years, I have come across many life savers in the form of some really great products which help me battle through the cold, bitter months. Here are a few of my favourites.

Soap & Glory Hand Food

Soap and Glory Hand Food

I love pretty much all of Soap and Glory products but their Hand Food is my favourite. As I’ve gotten older I’ve noticed my hands becoming more and more dry which is not good as my mum suffers terribly with dry hands, to the point where the skin splits and chaps. I’ve been using Hand Food for a few years now and I apply this a couple of times throughout the day and right before bed and it keeps the dryness at bay.

Carmex Lip Balm

Carmex Lip BalmOne of the worst things about winter is how it makes your lips feel dry and chapped. I use Vaseline daily but a few weeks ago I noticed that my top lip was really sore and dry and no matter how much Vaseline I slathered on it wouldn’t go. I opted for this Carmex Lip Balm instead and it cleared up within two days. If you suffer with really dry lips I cannot recommend this enough.

Simple Micellar Cleansing Water & Moisturising Facial Wash

I’m a big fan of Simple products. I use their Micellar Cleansing Water to take my makeup off every day which helps my skin feel refreshed and hydrated. I also use their Moisturising Facial Wash which helps hydrate my skin and leaves it feeling soft, moisturised and replenished. If you have sensitive skin this range is ideal.

Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo & Conditioner

Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo & Conditioner

During winter my hair tends to get a bit dry and damaged. I try to use products on my hair that give it a bit of life. For shampoo and conditioner I use the Miracle Moist from the Aussie range. It has Australian Macadamia Nut Oil in it which helps to condition and smooth the hair. Not to mention it Aussie hair products smell amazing.

L’Occitane Ultra Rich Foaming Bath

L'Occitane Ultra Rich Foaming Bath

Winter is definitely a time for plenty of bubble baths. While I enjoy a good bubble bar and bath both from Lush, I really enjoy this bubble bath from L’Occitane too. A tiny bit goes a long way. It leaves the bath water silky and smooth and my skin always feels amazing when I use it. It has a really lovely, comforting scent to it and just makes bath time very relaxing.
