Don’t Let These 3 Factors Stop You From Travelling

There are few things in life more wonderful than travel. The ability to get away from it all and experience new sights, sounds, and cultures is something that nothing else can quite match. It’s the kind of thing that every single person should do as much as they can throughout their lives. However, a lot of people end up feeling as though they can’t travel, however much they might want to. Whether it’s for financial reasons, health reasons, or anything else, they feel as though there’s no way for them to possibly be able to travel. Well, that’s not the case! To demonstrate that, here are a few of the most common reasons that people have for not being able to travel and how you can work around them.

Money is always the big one. After all, when it comes to travelling, you’re almost never going to be able to do it for free. Everything from plane tickets and travel insurance to food and accommodation is going to cost money. Of course, exactly how much money is often up to you. Factors like where and when you travel as well as the kinds of standards that you’re willing to put up with can have a major impact on the cost of any trip. Not only that but if you have dreams of travelling to certain places, why not plan for the future and start saving your money right now?

A lot of people tend to say that they just don’t have the time for travel and sure if you’re planning on spending six months backpacking through the Amazon then you’re going to have to put your life on hold for a while. However, you can still experience the wonders that the world has to offer without giving up your entire life. Things like taking weekend trips or a couple of weeks out of the year to travel aren’t unreasonable at all, and plenty of people do it all the time. It allows you to fit travel around work and all of the other commitments in your life.

If you’re suffering from any kind of ill health, then it can often feel as though travelling is something that you simply can’t do. For one thing, it can feel as though getting travel insurance with medical conditions is very expensive and difficult. Yes, getting specialist travel insurance is important, but that doesn’t mean that it’s going to cost the earth. Not only that but there are plenty of travel destinations that are able to make special allowances for ill health or any other specific requirements that you might have. Don’t let your health stand in the way of doing what you really want to do.

Sure, travelling isn’t always going to be easy, and if it’s something that you really want to do, then you may have to make sacrifices. However, it’s important to remember that if you really want to do something, then you shouldn’t let anything stand in your way. If you have big travel dreams, then get out there and make them a reality!

  1. An interesting post! I think everything you said is true – I actually wrote along this theme fairly recently too. Which factor do you think stops people most often?

  2. Hi Zac. I’d personally say money is the biggest factor that stops people from travelling. Unless they’re earning money whilst doing it.
