Here we are, day 7 of Blogmas and I’m still going, which is quite the Christmas miracle really. I saw this (old) post on one of my favourite blogs, Milkbubbletea and thought a Christmas Tag would be a good idea to get things extra festive around here.
What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?
I love lots of Christmas films but my absolute favourites are Home Alone 1 & 2 and The Santa Clause.
Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
We usually open presents on Christmas morning. If it’s presents from family and friends that I’m not going to see on the big day, then I usually open them days earlier when we’re doing our gift exchange.
Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
I don’t have a particular favourite Christmas memory because there’s so many. Just silly little things that my family would have said that still make me smile.
Favourite festive food?
Christmas food is the best. Mince pies, pigs in blankets, tubs of Roses and Quality Street, cheeseboards and tins of biscuits. But you can’t beat Christmas dinner.
Favourite Christmas gift?
One year Tom adopted a penguin from London Zoo for me, Ricky the Rockhopper. Penguins are my favourite animal so I was super excited and we got to go and see him a few months later. That was definitely one of my favourite Christmas presents.
Favourite Christmas scent?
Probably the smell of the roast dinner cooking. It smells different than a normal roast. I also like the smell of tinsel, which sounds really weird. But it has a very distinct smell to it.
Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
When I was little we’d get into our new PJs and watch The Santa Clause. Now I split my Christmases between my family and Tom’s, so things are slightly different each year. For the past 3 years we’ve listened to the Snowman on the radio (as we’re usually driving somewhere) and I really enjoy that even though I’m not the biggest Snowman fan!
What tops your tree?
For the past 3 or 4 years it’s been a snowman that Tom and I got from John Lewis. Growing up, we always had an angel and I always got to put it on the top of the tree.
As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?
I can’t really remember to be honest. I’m sure I probably asked for lots of silly things that I didn’t get but I would have definitely asked my parents for a dog at one point. We did eventually get a dog just not at Christmas.
What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
That Christmassy feeling you get in the build up to the day. Knowing you’ll be spending time with loved ones and eating lots of delicious food.
